Department of Mathematics

Vision:
    To raise students’ awareness of mathematics so that they may overcome their irrational fear of it and start learning and enjoy it.
Mission:
1. To encourage students to learn mathematics and mathematical applications.
2. To educate students on economic growth and employability.
3. Providing a background for relating mathematical techniques.

Events of the Department:
•    Organized two guardian meetings every year.
•    Organized Departmental Seminar every year.
•    Popular Talk on 26 August 2017, A Geometric Approach to Linear Algebra, Speaker: Dr. Ankur Bharali, Assistant Professor, Dibrugarh University.
•    National Level Webinar in collaboration with Department of Mathematics on Srinivasa Ramanujan and some of his Mathematics & Application of Mathematics in Economics, Resource Person: 1. Dr. Nripen Saikia, HoD of Mathematics, Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh, 2. Mr. Ranju Bharali, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Cinnamara College.
•    The Department of Mathematics, Kakojan College signed MoU with the Department of Mathematics Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya.
•    Celebrate National Mathematics Day (Initiative programme under MoU) on 22th December 2021 in Association with Jorhat Kendriya Mahavidyalaya.
Achievement of Students:
•    In 2017-2018, secured 2nd position in Wall magazine competition held on the occasion of Annual College week.
•    Secured 2nd position in Quiz Competition held on 22-12-2021 organized jointly by Mathematics Department of Kakojan College and Jorhat Kendriya Mahabidyalaya on the occasion of National Mathematics Day.
•    In 2021-2022, secured 2nd position in Cultural Rally Competition held on the occasion of Annual College Week competition.
•    In the session 2022-2023, Abhinash Dutta secured 2nd position in Jyoti Sangeet on college week.
•    In the session 2022-2023 Abhinash Dutta secured 2nd position in Jayanta Sangeet on Annual College Week competition.
•    In the session 2022-2023 Abhinash Dutta secured 3rd position in Parbati Prasad Sangeet on Annual College Week competition.
•    In the session 2022-2023 Abhinash Dutta secured 3rd position in Lokageet on Annual College Week compaction.
•    Department of Mathematics secured 1st prize in a competition on Making Science Model on the occasion of National Science Day held on 28th February 2023.
ICT Classes:
•    ICT classes are held in the Mathematic Lab and ICT enabled classrooms of the College.
•    Online mode of teaching-learning is carried out through platforms like Google Meet, Google Classroom and WhatsApp groups.
